Hello there!

Thanks very much for checking out my website. I work at the University of Exeter, in the UK, where I research and teach on a wide range of topics related to the Middle Ages. My background is in French studies, and I’m part of a team investigating how, where, and why people learned French in Britain between 1200 and 1500.

Outside of work, I’m a brass band musician and conductor, a terrible recreational cyclist, and a cat dad. This is my personal site, which I use to share what I’m up to (both in- and outside of work), and which serves as a home for my teaching materials that aren’t specific to the University of Exeter.

If you’re looking for more information on my work, please feel free to look at my staff profile page at the University of Exeter, or get in touch via the contact page in the menu above.

I’m not sure whether or not this was meant to be used as a headshot, but I quite like it.
